The underlying concept of XLIBRIS grew and developed in the mind of Kasper Eistrup for almost four years before the first
sketches were made. The idea was originally stimulated by the artist's own need for a
shelf as a workplace in his studio and also because of his aversion to shelves on wall brackets.
Although initially a personal project, Eistrup collaborated with Sibast Furniture to create and devellop two multifunctional pieces
of furniture: a wall-mounted, self-supporting shelf and a matching table.
The ultra-slim silhouette and light style is reminiscent of Japanese origami art and is completely devoid of brackets.
Despite its apparent simplicity, XLIBRIS is packed with small craft and functional details, such as a hidden cable exit in the
wall-mounted desk, allowing an elegant and discreet connection of a laptop, smartphone or lamp to the mains
is possible.
Both the shelf and the desk are mounted to the wall without visible screws, which emphasizes the impression of XLIBRIS as two
integrated furniture that seems to grow out of the wall.

Kasper Eistrup's artistic approach to design and his sense of detail are evident in XLIBRIS. It features an exclusive
brass decal mounted on the side of both the shelf and desk. This emblem consists of four hearts joined together
to a four leaf clover. They symbolize a predilection for necessity, functionality, the material and the craft,
elements that were all involved in the development of XLIBRIS.
The name XLIBRIS itself refers to an ex libris, which was once commonly put in books to indicate ownership.
In some cases, ex-libris were elaborate works of art created by draftsmen or engravers.
The designer is not only a creative furniture maker, he is also the singer, guitarist, composer, songwriter and founder of the
