VP Globe Coloured Glass Lamp| Verner Panton

The VP Globe Coloured Glass pendant lamp from the Danish design brand Verpan is a true design classic
designed by Verner Panton in 1969.
The sculptural Space Age design lamp provides a pleasant diffused light and looks great in modern and minimalist interiors.

The crystal clear transparent Globe is made of acrylic. The five reflectors inside
are suspended on three steel chains.
Unlike the original version the VP Coloured Glass features the two large reflectors are made of hand-polished
and hand-painted smoked glass.

As proof of its authenticity, you will find Verner Panton's signature in the acrylic of the round shade,
engraved products are a trademark of Verner Panton.
All VP-Globe pendant lamps are assembled 100% by hand in Denmark.

VP Globe variants

This VP-Globe Colored Glass has a diameter of 40 cm. The original VP Globe is available with a diameter of 28, 40 and 50 cm.

Verner Panton

A little-known story behind the inspiration of Verner Panton’s lighting
is the Venice influence.
Panton was known for his desire to explore, travel and experience different places and cultures.
One of his favorite destinations was Venice, Italy, and he paid several visits to the famous ‘city on the water’.
It was in fact during one of these visits, that he fell in love with the slightly rose-coloured light
emitted by the old street lamps in the city.
So much so that he wanted his future lighting designs to simulate that unique experience.
The VP Globe is perhaps the most successful execution of this early
inspiration,
as its special layered design paired with the acrylic globe emits a warm, soft and ambient mood-setting light,
a signature of Panton.
