The light is directed 100% down and the screen has a matt white lacquered interior for soft, diffuse, pleasant lighting.
The luminaire fulfills all criteria of the "full cut-off" lighting means that light pollution is prevented.

The story behind the Toldbod

The Toldbod luminaires are designed based on the PH elliptical reflector.
This was Poul Henningsen's last attempt at street lighting before his death
to design. In its time, this luminaire did not go much further than a test for the municipalities
in an urban area north of Copenhagen. The original
elliptical reflector is designed for a 100 W incandescent lamp.
The luminaires have changed enormously since Poul Henningen's first attempt; the materials and surface treatments have undergone a radical development.
The design is very modest and is therefore easy to fit into
any architectural environment.
