The GE526 dinner table was designed together with the matching dinner chair GE525 in the seventies by Hans J. Wegner.
A sleek-looking round table of wood with a table top of choice finished with linoleum in many colors,
or oak veneer, makes the Getama GE526 table suitable in both modern and classic interiors.

The Getama dining table and chair are on display in the showroom of North Sea Design.
As well as all color linoleum and wood samples in different finishes.

The U series by Getama

Old love never dies. At least not when it comes to furniture designed by Hans J. Wegner (1914-2007).
In 1949, Wegner started his career as an interior architect for GETAMA and managed to design an abundance of furniture
that is still manufactured in the carpentry workshop in northern Jutland.
It is an impressive collection of armchairs, sofas, side tables, and daybeds that has been developed
in close collaboration with the Danish furniture master.

Just before the 100-year anniversary of Wegner’s birth, the English department store John Lewis contacted GETAMA
with a specific wish to pay tribute to the international Dane in a mutual project.

All furniture sketches that Wegner had drawn for GETAMA have been reviewed, discussed, and evaluated.
The big question was: Which piece of furniture was best suited for a relaunch?
It turned out to be an old forgotten collection from 1970: the U CHAIR and the U DINING TABLE
with the model numbers GE 525 and GE 526.
John Lewis held the rights to GE 525 and GE 526 throughout the entire jubilee year of Wegner.
However, the rights have now been returned to GETAMA, and the U Collection is now sold worldwide.

“If only I could design one good chair in my entire life”, Wegner humbly said.
GETAMA believes he accomplished this with the GE 525, a chair which offers comfortable support to arms and elbows,
yet can be pulled all the way in to the table.
A body in wood and a seat with leather or textile upholstery is what makes GE 525 a convenient and comfortable dining chair.
The great chair is marvelously accompanied by the perfectly round dining table GE 526,
which is supported by the same lightness and easily deciphered construction.
