PK1 Dining Chair | Carl Hansen & Søn

The PK1 dining chair by Carl Hansen & Søn is an absolute design classic from 1955 and a recognizable Poul Kjaerholm design.
The combination of industrial steel and natural papercord creates a visual lightness, it makes the PK1 chair
applicable in both modern and classic interiors.
Originally the PK1 was made of rattan and now CHS makes the dining chair
in papercord with the same weaving
technique for optimum seating comfort. This technique makes the front of the chair just as beautiful as the back.

The PK1 is available in stainless steel or black powder coated steel.
The replacebale glides are included in felt or a hard version.
It is possible to stack up to five chairs at a time, making the PK1 a versatile and practical dining chair.

Designer POUL KJÆRHOLM
During his relatively short career as a furniture designer, Poul Kjærholm made his mark as one of the finest
representatives of modernism. His work was deeply rooted in the Danish furniture tradition.
The same year he designed the PK1, Poul Kjærholm also created a stylish range of furniture for the Royal Danish Academy
of Fine Arts in Copenhagen comprising two work tables for the school's lecturers and students;
the iconic PK52, or the Professor Desk, and PK52A, or the Student Desk.
These tables were added to Carl Hansen & Søn's collection of classic designer furniture in 2016.
The PK1 Dinner Chair goes well with the PK52 table by Poul Kjaerholm.
