Dining table OW224 | Rungstedlund table | Carl Hansen

The OW224 Rungstedlund Dining Table was designed in 1962 by Ole Wanscher. This beautiful organically shaped table was intended for
the Rungstedlund house from author Karen Blixen, which is now a museum.
This dining room table has a slim, elliptical design and is extendable from the center which alows two to six additional guests easily at the table.
The table legs are slightly tapered and are nicely rounded on the outside.
Ole Wanscher liked to make his designs as functional as possible. The Rungstedlund table can therefore be used in both smaller
spaces as a kitchen or living room in an apartment, as in a larger dining room.

The table offers ample space for four people. With one extension leaf there is room for six people and with two extension leafs there is room for
even ten people to come to dinner!

When one extension leaf is added, the space between the legs is 163 cm, with two extension leaves it is 228 cm.

Materials |
The OW224 dining table comes with an oak veneer table top, solid oak edges and a solid oak frame.
This table is finished with natural oil.
The table is prepared to accommodate the optional extension leaves and is supplied with a black beech leg for support
of them.
The extension leaves are optionally available in oak or MDF in gray or black.

Ole Wanscher left behind impressive designs that are produced by Carl Hansen & Søn. His inspiration from classic English interiors and
ideas of modern furniture design is always visible. This makes the OW224 table suitable for use in various spaces
and can be tastefully combined with Danish designer chairs, such as the PK1 dining room chair by Poul Kjaerholm.
