The MG501 Cuba Chair with Cotton Webbing was designed by Morten Gøttler in 1997 and has a contemporary design with an ideal balance
between form and function. It has a solid oak frame with natural or black cotton webbing around the frame that provides a comfortable fit
shape the seat and back and provide excellent support while gently following the contours of the body.

This folding lounge chair is ideal for extra or permanent use. The light frame can be easily mounted on a wall
hung or placed on a floor stand for easy storage.
The MG501 Cuba chair captures everything Gøttler is known for: beautiful, easy-going aesthetics and thoughtful shape,
as well as its designs with excellent comfort and great attention to detail. All made with quality materials.

Materials |
Oak Finish with soap, oil or spray painted in black. Cotton webbing in black or natural.
Furniture webbing is produced from 85% recycled cotton and 15% polyethylene that increases the webbing’s water and moisture resistance.
Cotton webbing is preferred as it has good load bearing capacity and prevents the webbing from starting to sag over time.
Seats and backs braided with cotton webbing provide good support and comfortable seating. The cotton webbing has been given
a water-repellent treatment which means that spilled liquids are not easily absorbed.

In addition, an outdoor Cuba Chair is available, it is made of teak wood with a seat of outdoor wicker in dark gray.

Morten Gøttler for Carl Hansen & Son

Morten Gøttler was born in Copenhagen in 1944 and was originally trained in shipping.
He became a self-taught designer and architect known for his exceptional knowledge of wood.
He opened his own studio in 1972 and has worked in many genres including furniture design, home art, packaging,
toys, graphics and lighting.
Gøttler's beautiful, easy-going aesthetic is characterized by a well-thought-out shape, excellent comfort and a lot
attention to detail bringing everything to life with quality materials.
