All colors of the cities have been carefully researched. Label of the Elements has found an exact color number for Rotterdam
from the palette of Sybold van Ravesteyn, who wanted to honor the designers as architects of the former Central Station and Diergaarde Blijdorp, among others.
"We have chosen a definitive color for Rotterdam and that has become a shade from the palette of the Rotterdam architect
Sybold van Ravesteyn (1889-1983). With its stations and signal boxes for the railways, he has left a significant mark on the city
(and the whole of the Netherlands actually). In addition, he also designed, for example, the beautiful pavilions of Blijdorp Zoo.

Van Ravesteyn was a modernist who gave an Italian panache to the sleek modernist lines.
His masterpiece was Rotterdam Central Station, which has now been demolished, just like the Blaak and Hofplein stations he designed.
Fortunately, Blijdorp has recently been completely renovated, just like Bergweg station.
We felt that this born Rotterdammer should be honored in our designs.
We did this by choosing a typical Van Ravesteyn color.
We fell for the greenish gray that he often used on concrete and whose color number we found out: Keim 101.
Now that color number may not mean anything to many people, but Keimfarben is one of the oldest and most renowned paint manufacturers in the world.
Buildings such as the White House, Buckingham Palace, the Bolshoi Theater and the Sydney Opera House have been painted with Keim's paint.
We think it is great to be able to put on the posters and cards: color Van Ravesteyn gray (Keim 101)."

The designs of Label of the Elements

Each city has it's own letter code and is surrounded by interesting data, just like the chemical elements in the periodic table.
A nice difference is that they have added attractive pictographs and some fun to the numbers.
From the infographic designs you learn about the location of each city (upper right corner), typical food (upper left corner),
a famous landmark or monument (lower right corner) and a surprising local fact (lower left corner)
Label of the Elements posters and postcards are printed on premium Biotop paper, which is planet friendly (FSC, TCF) and has a natural off-white look.
