CH37 Chair | Carl Hansen & Son

The Carl Hansen & Son CH37 chair was designed in 1962 by Hans J. Wegner.
The CH37 is a functional and light dining room chair whose lines clearly refer to * Shaker style furniture.
The design is apparently simple, but has been created by craftsmanship and with a special eye for detail.
The legs of the CH37 taper off slightly both towards the floor and, in the case of the rear legs,
also towards the top, creating an elegant appearance.
The backrest is significantly more curved at the top than at the bottom to optimize support for your back.
The seat is woven by hand around the chair frame from durable paper cord.
The overall expression is completed with the frame and the seat hand-woven in durable paper cord.

Wegner's CH37 chair gives accent when standing alone in a room, but also combines perfectly with the CH36 (without armrests)
grouped around the CH327 dining room table.
The chair is often seen in conference rooms and churches.

Wood and Finish

Hans Wegner's CH37 has many possibilities; To start, choose which type of wood you prefer the dining room chair.
Thereafter the finish of the beech or oak wood.
Beech can be finished in soap, oil or lacquer.
In addition, the beech wood version can be painted in a wide variety of colors. The structure of the wood is then minimally visible.

The CH37 in oak can be finished in soap, oil, lacquer, white oil or black lacquer. The wood structure is then clearly visible.
Last you can choose a natural (unbleached) or a black papercord seat.
For the CH37, a specially designed leather cushion is available in Loke leather, in the colors golden brown, brown or black.
