Hans Wegner Danish Design

One of the striking features of the CH111 Chair is the back leg that is turned 90 degrees
to fit into the upholstered backrest and thus provide optimum support.
A simpler solution would have been to simply weld the armrest onto the extended back leg,
but Wegner never compromised on quality or aesthetics.
The CH111 was designed by Hans J. Wegner, and produced in a limited edition by Carl Hansen, in 1970 as part of a complete
range of office furniture, including conference chairs and armchairs, desks, conference tables and coffee tables and sofas.
Hans J. Wegner is widely regarded as one of the leading figures in 20th century interior design
and a driving force in the "Danish Modern" movement that changed the view of furniture in the 1950s and 1960s.
