The iconic Bird Chubby by Architectmade was designed by Kristian Vedel in 1959 and has since become a Danish design icon.
Although Bird is simple in appearance, its clean lines create endless expressions by merely tilting its head
in virtually any direction.
This way BIRD can express happiness, sadness and curiosity.
The head lies loosely on the lower body, which makes it easy to change the appearance and look of the bird.
The base of the wooden bird can also be turned around, giving you a different body type.
According to Architectmade, it then looks more like a boy.
The birds are packed in a beautiful box, making it extra fun to give Bird as a gift.

Bird is handmade from natural or smoked oak, the eyes are inserted with wenge wood and maple wood.

Bird is a design by the Danish Kristian Vegel, created as a bird family, from small to large, slim to chubby, child to grandparent.
The Bird series represents an entire generation. Bird Small represents the children, Bird Large the parents and Chubby the grandparents.

Kristian Vedel
Kristian Vedel's work is strongly influenced by Kaare Klint, the father of modern Danish furniture design, and by the German Bauhaus school.
His now classic designs are characterised by a creative use of materials, especially wood and plastic
with a strong sense of ergonomics and functional requirements.
