Create a calm, elegant and practical dining room with Finn Juhl's 1953 Nyhavn Dining Table.
Numerous options allow the table to be adapted to an individual style.
Special supports ensure that the extension blades at both ends
can hang
vertically when not in use to extend the table. The blades can also be completely removed.
Finn Juhl is known for adding visual lightness to his designs and the Nyhavn Dining Table is no exception.
Finn Juhl was inspired by the simple designs of his American counterparts, especially those of Charles Eames.
His feeling for however, functionality and detail is what really gives this piece character.
The orange and blue colors are characteristic of Finn Juhl's designs and are inspired by
the wheel of warm and cold colors by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.
The collaboration with the natural colors of the wood give a beautiful result.
And of course the Nyhavn dining table has special details that have been thought through.
For example, look at the wooden ends on the table legs. Finn Juhl came up with them
as a prevention against rust when the table is on a smooth floor which sometimes
has to be cleaned with water. It is stylish and functional at the same time.
The Finn Juhl Nyhavn dining table can be beautifully combined with the stylish
Reading Chair by Finn Juhl, or opt for a chair, for example.
with a steel frame such as the Carl Hansen & Søn CH88 or the Co Chair from Audo Copenhagen.

The Danish modernist Finn Juhl may have been the designer with which organic forms
are most visible in his furniture design.
Like other modernist pioneers, Juhl started from scratch with no role models or hereditary limitations.
He designed by measuring and analyzing his own body and how the individual parts
of the chair should support the human body.
And unlike his contemporaries, with their streamlined, scaffold-like structures,
Juhl strove for a more organic, natural shape.
The potential strength of the wood was used to the maximum, just like it occurs
during the natural growth process of a tree.
As Finn Juhl translated his ideas into bold, smooth joinery where every element of the design
flows seamlessly into another, he also set very high standards for the furniture makers who had to make the design.
The result is visible in beautifully refined, sculptural and iconic work that has been supplied
exclusively by House of Finn Juhl since its restart in 2001.
