The spacious 1948 Silver Table is perhaps one of Finn Juhl's most famous and extravagant designs. The dining table comes
with two extension leaves and can be ordered with or without inlaid sterling silver coins.
It is these special details that inspired the nickname Judas table. As one can imagine there are 30 Sterling silver pieces visible which are spread like a
star blanket over the table top. When the table is fully extended, 42 coins are visible.
These inlays are smooth and of different diameter. They are not only an exclusive decorative element but also have the functional purpose to indicate
how many people can sit around the table, varying from four to fourteen places.
This oval dining room table or conference table can be extended with two extra leaves, while the frame remains in the same position.
The table was originally made by furniture maker Niels Vodder in Brazilian rosewood to be exhibited at the
Copenhagen Cabinetmakers' Guild Exhibition in 1948. It was then made in two different wooden materials with a darker top
and a lighter frame.
The Finn Juhl Silver dining table can be beautifully combined with the stylish 108 Chair and 109 Chair dining room chairs by Finn Juhl, or opt for the
organically shaped Niels O. Moller chair Model 62 with leather seat.

Finn Juhl Organic Danish Design
The Danish modernist Finn Juhl may have been the designer with which organic forms are most visible in his furniture design.
Like other modernist pioneers, Juhl started from scratch with no role models or hereditary limitations.
He designed by measuring and analyzing his own body and how the individual parts of the chair should support the human body.
And unlike his contemporaries, with their streamlined, scaffold-like structures, Juhl strove for a more organic,
natural shape.
The potential strength of the wood was used to the maximum, just like it occurs during the natural growth process of a tree.
As Finn Juhl translated his ideas into bold, smooth joinery where every element of the design flows seamlessly into another,
he also set very high standards for the furniture makers who had to make the design.
The result is visible in beautifully refined, sculptural and iconic work that has been supplied exclusively by House of Finn Juhl
since its restart in 2001.
