Designed by Morten Gøttler in 1997, the MG501 Cuba Chair captures contemporary design with its ideal balance of form and
function, and nods to previous masters who experimented with elevating the folding chair concept.

The MG501 Cuba Chair by Morten Gøttler takes extra seating to a new level. It features a solid untreated teak frame, with the grey (Charcoal)
FlatRope outdoor girths around the frame forming a comfortable seat and back and providing excellent support as they gently follow the body’s contours.
The Flat rope is also available in Sesame color and light brown natural shade.

This folding lounge chair is ideal as an extra or permanent fixture. Its light and foldable frame can easily be hung on a wall
or placed on a floor stand for convenient storage.
Meanwhile, the chair has all the elegance of a sculpture with its natural materials, clean cotton webbing and evident craftsmanship.
In short, it beautifully embodies the concept of complex simplicity.

The Cuba Chair MG501 outdoor is available quickly, from order at Carl Hansen the chair will be in the store at North Sea Design after 1 week.
This means that the chair will be at your home in 2 to 3 weeks.
The indoor Cuba Chair is also available with cotton webbing in black or natural, the Cuba Chair Webbing or in Paper cord.

Materials | untreated teak and dark grey Outdoor wicker, Charcoal.
The Cuba Chair MG501 Outdoor, is woven with thin rope made of flat woven polypropylene.
This is a strong synthetic fiber which is ideal for outdoor use as it is easy to clean and does not absorb moisture. Polypropylene is also easy to recycle.
Teak is the ideal type of wood for outdoor furniture. The wood is very durable and resistant to wind and weather due to its natural oil content
and it is not attacked by insects and rot. They only use FSC®-certified teak at Carl Hansen & Søn.
Before using your new teak furniture, you should consider which kind of look you prefer for your furniture. If you choose to leave your furniture
untreated, the color of the light brown teak will change to the very characteristic silver-gray surface, for which untreated teak is known.
This process of transformation depends on the specific environment where the furniture is located and will happen within weeks or months.
If you want the furniture to remain a golden, warm color, you get the best results by oil-treating the furniture before using it the first time.
For retreatment, use oil for outdoor use. Oil for outdoor use contains fungicides, which prevent microorganisms from discoloring the surface.

Morten Gøttler was born in Copenhagen in 1944 and was originally trained in shipping.
He became a self-taught designer and architect known for his exceptional knowledge of wood.
He opened his own studio in 1972 and has worked in many genres including furniture design, home art, packaging,
toys, graphics and lighting.
Gøttler's beautiful, easy-going aesthetic is characterized by a well-thought-out shape, excellent comfort and a lot
attention to detail bringing everything to life with quality materials.
