The Lyfa Divan 2 is a truly captivating pendant lamp designed by Simon P. Henningsen in 1962.
The carefully positioned trapezoids, mirror on the outside and multicoloured on the inside,
enact a fascinating display of indirect light. The downlight of the Divan pendant is soft and comfortable.
The Divan lamp is a sculptural piece of art, a masterpiece of lighting design that’s a joy to behold even when switched off.
The manufacturing of each pendant involves a meticulous multi-step process, in which each trapezoid is polished by hand.
Still hand-assembled to perfection in Denmark.

DIVAN 2 is known and loved for its colorful interplay of light; With its the ability to absorb its surroundings,
the pendant has a vivid and everchanging expression depending on the viewer’s perspective.
The light source is obscured and completely glare-free. The cascading effect happens when the light hits the vertically arranged trapezoids.
On the inside, they are lacquered in different colors, causing a fascinating display of light to flow into the room.

The Divan 2 family consists of pendants in five different sizes, as well as a table lamp.
Most sizes are available in either solid brass or the original polished stainless-steel version with multicoloured trapezoids
(red, blue, purple, beige, and teal).
From a diameter of 40cm, Divan 2 400, the lamp is equipped with steel wire.

Origin Divan 2 lamp
In 1962, Simon P. Henningsen unveiled a new pendant purposely designed for the famous restaurant of the amusement park Tivoli.
Back in the days, the DIVAN 2 restaurant offered a spectacular view over the garden lake and at night,
the pendant’s mirrored surfaces would catch the light, colours and fireworks from across the park.
The colours inside the pendant was inspired by the multi-coloured universe and themes inside Tivoli Gardens.
The success of the DIVAN 2 pendant went well beyond Copenhagen’s beloved Tivoli as LYFA started offering the lamp for the general public.
DIVAN 2 was bestowed with several Danish and international design awards. In 1963, it was even exhibited at the Louvre in Paris.
