To celebrate the 100th birthday of Hans J. Wegner, Carl Hansen & Son put its CH88 into production in 2014.
This chair, designed in 1955, existed until then only as a prototype.

The CH88 is versatile thanks to the numerous variants in finish.
The backrest is characterized by a steam-bent wooden backrest. The slight curves at the ends of this ensure a natural position
for the arm rest.
An oval wooden seat is mounted on the steel frame with the straight rear legs.
This variation in use of materials, combined with a minimalist design, results in a light, both organic and industrial appearance.

The CH88P is upholstered. When this dining room chair is preferred with a wooden seat, look at the CH88T.

The CH88 is stackable, which increases the possibilities of use. Optional protectors are available to safely stack the chair.

For example, combine this dining room chair with the CH322 or CH388 table if you want to implement the use of materials.

Frame in steel with black powder coating or stainless steel
Backrest in beech, finished with soap, lacquer, oil or sprayed in color where the wood grain is hardly or not visible.
Backrest in oak finished with soap, lacquer, oil, white oil, smoked oil or sprayed black with the wood grain clearly visible.
The seat is covered with, among other things, Gabriel or Kvadrat textiles or leather in different qualities.

Among Danish furniture designers, Hans J. Wegner is considered one of the most creative, innovative and productive.
Often referred to as the master of the chair, Wegner created nearly 500 chairs during his lifetime, many of them as
masterpieces were considered.
He is probably best known for his iconic Wishbone Chair which has been in continuous production since 1950.
The core of Wegner's legacy lies in the simplicity and functionality of good pieces of furniture.
